We take Data Protection extremely seriously

The safety of your data is as important to us as it is to you

Whether it is protecting the data we hold relating to a claim or protecting policyholder data on hard drives or other static storage mediums, we take all the precautionary measures to ensure that data is kept safe, whilst in our care.

Claims data will be kept for as long as is necessary for the purposes of handling a claim or as stipulated in our contract with our instructing client.

Policyholders data, that is stored on the devices we receive for assessment, is treated in the strictest confidence and no personal data needs to be accessed by our engineers whilst we carry out an assessment or repair. We will only access personal data if we are authorised to do so by the policyholder and instructor of a claim, such as attempting to recover data for a client. Only operating systems and system settings are accessed to ensure that devices are operating to manufacturer's standards.

If a device is assessed and deemed beyond repair by CATS and then replaced, the storage device will be removed and returned to the owner if removable, otherwise wiped or destroyed. This will be discussed with the owner of the data to ensure they are entirely satisfied with the agreed outcome.

For peace of mind, we are registered with the ICO who require us to uphold the information rights of the public and look after the privacy rights of individuals. Our registration number is Z9353723

If you want to discuss any data protection concerns with us or require further reassurance then you can speak directly to our Claims Director - Mark Lund on 01943 882 130 or email: directors@catsclaims.co.uk
