How does the process work?

Whether it is reassurance as a policyholder or you are considering instructing us, you should find the information you need here.

As a policyholder, CATS believe in the personal touch, which is why you will have a dedicated technology consultant handling your claim supported by an equally dedicated claims support advisor. You will be given their contact details and a unique CATS reference number for your claim. For existing clients and those considering instructing us for the first time, the CATS consultancy claims team is here to help you. Our commodity area is anything technology-related. We handle commercial, domestic, high net worth as well as major & complex loss claims.

Incident

CATS will always add value, but the sooner CATS are instructed after an incident, the greater the value.

We will require as much detail as possible on the original products you have had damaged or stolen, including the make and model of any items involved. Receipts and proof of ownership may also be sought.

Limit claim spend leakage by instructing CATS as soon as possible.
Discover whether the reported incident is consistent with our findings.
Involve CATS before equipment gets unnecessarily replaced when it could have been repaired or replaced for more than it needs to be.

Instruction

You can instruct us via phone, email or the website, whichever is easiest for you.

Within two hours of receiving your instruction, we will confirm receipt and immediately act upon it. Each claim will be handled by a dedicated technology consultant, supported by a claims support advisor who will collectively progress your claim to settlement.

Communicate

The key to a successful claims journey

At CATS we believe in the personal touch, which is why you will have a dedicated technology consultant handling your claim supported by an equally dedicated claims support advisor. You will be given their contact details and a unique CATS reference number for your claim.

CATS will confirm receipt of instruction via email usually within minutes of a claim being logged or within 2 hours of receipt.
The CATS claims team will communicate with all relevant parties involved and update them as required.
Regular present positions of claims will be provided via phone and email.

Validate

Accuracy in a timely manner.

By instructing CATS you will receive an accurate validation on every claim. CATS specialist knowledge and experience will help you more reliably:

Identify policyholder entitlement
Validate any proposed repair/replacement quotes
Identify any fraud concerns
Agree on settlement in principle

Assess & Inspect

Products can be assessed on or off-site, dependant on the product.

This can happen as early as the same day of instruction, next day or as otherwise agreed with the policyholder.

Report

Professional, informative & concise

In the time frame you specify, containing all the validation information you need to make an informed decision including assessment findings as well as repair and replacement options.

Every claim handled by CATS will have a professional validation report produced.
Reports are forwarded seeking authority to settle or otherwise forwarded with our invoice when instructed under delegated authority.

Settlement

Proposing the best settlement outcome for you

Handling the settlement outcome before invoicing, under delegated authority or following your authority

CATS offers a number of settlement outcome options including Repair, Replacement & Cash settlement.
CATS can arrange cash settlement or the claim instructor or insurer can.
Claim outcomes may include repudiation and withdrawn claims.
