The Claim
The insured reported liquid ingress to a Xerox and a Lexmark printer. CATS arranged for an engineer to attend the site to inspect the equipment.
The Xerox printer was largely undamaged although the consumables were ruined by the liquid and the consumable set would therefore need to be replaced.
The Lexmark printer was damaged beyond repair and requires replacement. The insured had received a quotation to replace the item with the correct current equivalent. However, it appears their supplier had quoted full retail price on the unit (£30,000.00). CATS were able to provide a more reasonable price. CATS recommended cash settling the Xerox consumables and replacing the Lexmark.
